| 英文描述 | Physical or chemical trauma to the hair, such as that from vigorous brushing or harsh chemicals, can cause small grayish-white nodules to form along the hair shaft. This resembles piedra, which should be ruled out. Microscopic examination of the the nodules shows an appearance of two brooms pushed together end to end. Hair breakage can occur through these nodules. Trichorrhexis nodosa was also seen in cats secondary to excessive grooming associated with flea allergy dermatitis (Alhaidri et al.). |
